Computer for Mechatronic/ General Engineering

Hi, I am in year 13 and have applied for general engineering at Cambridge, and mechatronic engineering at Leeds, Manchester and Southampton and for Christmas am going to buy a laptop/ PC, I currently do all my work on my iPad, so any recommendations would help!

It is really important you get a high performance that is also budget friendly. Here are some specs i would recommend and you should consider:

CPU: Intel i7 or AMD Ryzen 7 for strong performance.

GPU: NVIDIA RTX 3060 or higher for CAD and simulations.

RAM: 16 GB minimum, 32 GB ideal.

Storage: 512 GB SSD, with additional 1 TB HDD if needed.

Display: 15.6” or 17.3” with 1080p resolution.

Operating System: Windows 10/11 Professional.

Battery (for laptops): At least 6 hours of life.
