Hello :hello:

Which exam board are you following?
AQA

What do you enjoy the most about this subject or course?
I like all of the topics, but I find attachment the most interesting :u:

What topics within A-Level Psychology do you find most challenging/interesting?
Some of the research methods questions' mark schemes can be very specific so I do find it challenging to know the right words to use :s-smilie:

I got an A in AQA alevel psychology. I could have got an A star if i actually went over everything but i got too tired and stopped. The flashcards have all the information you would need for an A or an A star. You can also create your notes from it.Some people might think that there is too much information on each flashcard and might split it up.I used a mix of resources including my teachers slides, booklets, websites and youtube videos.Enjoy.It is an anki deck.Paper 3 topics were: forensics, schizophrenia, gender and issues and debate.https://ankiweb.net/shared/info/1528567830

AQA Psychology
I enjoy watching the occasional documentary my teacher puts on about certain cases!
My favourite topic is psychopathology but i quite like approaches because of its simplicity

Hi,
Year 12 Edexcel Psychology here 😞
I really like the topics I have done so far which is social psychology(prejudice and obedience).it's just the essay structure I struggle with as it's so complicated and 4-5 paragraphs for an 8 marker. Now imagine the higher markers 😩😖

I’d recommend making Anki flashcrads and separating each topic into AO1 and AO3 sub decks with full PEELs for evaluations and 8 AO1 points for each possible 16 marker. Btw what revision materials are you using?

I like making essay plans for every topic, that way you're prepared for the ao1 and ao3 :woo:

I genuinely cannot stand the idea of making my own flashcards, I prefer doing exam questions. I know it sounds stubborn but ig that's how I work. Right now I use the textbook, PMT and psychboost to revise. If you could recommend me a reliable anki deck that is accessible online that'd be greatly appreciated!

If you don't like flashcards you can do other forms of active recall like blurting, making mind maps from memory etc.

I'm aware that Quizlet has a good amount of pre-made flashcards if that's something you want to check out.

Here are some good Anki decks:

Also tutor 2u have made a pdf for each topic with band 4 16 markers that cover all (mostly) subtopics. For example here this one for attachment: https://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/attachment.php?attachmentid=1022603

I'm so fussy, I hate all of those techniques (or I'm just lazy when it comes to psych), but thanks!

How do you revise the A03? I aways get muddled between different essays and can never remember them in the exam.

I find making essay plans useful as it helps to show the 'split' between AO1 and AO3.

Also if you're making notes/doing blurts I find it useful to write the AO1 in one colour and the AO3 in a different colour which might help you not get the muddled up. For example when I make mind maps I write the AO1 in black pen then for AO3 I write strengths in green and weaknesses in red. Hope this helps

Hi! I'm in year 12 and am doing AS-level psychology for the AQA exam board.

So far we've covered Research Methods, Approaches to Psychology and are currently doing psychopathology with 1 teacher and biopsychology with the other. So far, I seem to have enjoyed approaches to psychology although I seem to struggle with Research Methods (RM). I haven't done well in the 2 tests we did in the first few weeks of starting psychology. I got an E in the first test and a C in the next. I also got a C in the RM covered with my second teacher and another C in the approaches to psychology test. I want to know what I can do to improve in these topics since my mocks will be on RM and Approaches to Psychology and I want to get an A or higher in those mocks. What do you think I should do? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Y12 here, had some exams and needed a concise subject specification to help me with what i needed to revise on (AQA one is long asf and just not very printer friendly). Couldn't find one so i made my own with a RAG format (for AQA) which i got down to about 10 pages and formatted it a bit better. this was inspired by a previous user, who did a bio and chem one, who ill also link. Enjoy.
