What are my chances of getting to Oxford Law?

Hi,
I am applying as an international student for Oxford (Magdalen) Law, but I feel like I completely messed up my LNAT. My time management was terrible in both sections, so I didn't manage to doublecheck anything. When doing practice tests I was getting around 30 on the section A, 24 on Arbitio, so it shouldn't be too bad, but my section B was really awful.

I got predicted 45/45 in IB, though, and I'm not submitting any other grades because I haven't done GCSEs or any equivalent. My personal statement is also quite good I think.

Do you think I have a chance at getting shortlisted at least? I'm asking primarily because I'm also applying to the US and if I knew that Oxford's not gonna work out I'd like to send a binding application to a really good uni there.

Thanks in advance.

i totally understand your situation because i'm applying for history and i feel like i just bombed my HAT. i dont want to dishearten you because there is always a possibility you could get shortlisted and maybe you did better on section b than you thought, plus you said you think section a was not bad. however oxford shortlists candidates for interview with equal weighting to your lnat section a, section b and your contextualised gcse grades, but since you didn't do gcses they'll be looking at the lnat a lot. and law is a really competitive course. so i think you could have a small chance but i would probably apply to the uni in the US. what's the deadline for the US uni and would it be before the interview offers/rejections come out?

Damn I actually never thought that not having done GCSEs would be a disadvantage since I come from a very different educational system and I'm doing a programme that might be a bit more difficult than A levels rn :// that's a good point.

The deadline for the binding US application is 1st November, so I'll still know nothing by then. But I think I'll just apply at this point.

Good luck with your history applications!

Definitely apply to US alternatives.Oxford law I'd always a punt with only about 1 in 10 getting an offer.
