English Language Grade

I am currently in year 12, and have aspirations to apply to a top university like Cambridge or Imperial for Computer Science. My GCSEs are:
9s in Maths, Further Maths, Computer Science, Biology
8s in Physics, Chemistry, Music
7 in History
6 in Literature
5 in Language

Would top universities accept such a low English language grade?

COMPUTING STUDENTS UNITE! i am not quite sure since i am only in year 10 but i have older siblings and cousins at cambridge - my advice would be to work your ass off during your a levels and see if you can get 4 a stars- albeit you might not get into oxbridge but other universities would certainly like you to join there instead, sorry i cant help that much

Thanks for the reply. If you don't mind me asking, how did your siblings get into cambridge? What were their GCSE and A level grades, and what did supercurriculars did they put on their Personal Statement?

of course, so my siblings didn't but my cousins did - sorry for not being clear. but they both got all 9s at GCSE's and i think they got 11 or 12 GCSE's in the end. they both did 4 a-levels and got 4 A*s and one did trumpet and the other did clarinet. i think they both had a second instrument but im not sure. but for my younger older cousin what particularly helped was that she had a lot of experience in what she wanted to do, because she wanted to study veterinary or something similar and she worked on a city farm for quite a few years. that being said, she got rejected from her initial college choice at cambridge but she ended up getting accepted by another college- so please dont be disheartened if you dont get into one as you can always apply again for a different college. anyway hope this gave a bit of an overview but sorry i cant tell you that much about their extracurriculars as im not that close with them
