I’m looking at applying to uni of Birmingham for law with business studies. My grades are A*AC and I’m currently on a gap year. Will Birmingham be hesitant to give me an offer because of the C?

Hi there,

Great to hear you're considering your uni choices and have found a good contender. I think the best thing you can do is contact their admissions team to ask directly whether they would accept your grades.

I hope this is helpful and best of luck 🙂

Are you eligible for contextual offers or planning to resit? If so, this may increase your chances of obtaining an offer. Technically, although Birmingham don’t consider UCAS tariff points, your grades would be equivalent to AAB, which would meet the requirements for the contextual offer. The offer rate for the course on UCAS is 1 in 2, so you have a 50/50 chance of obtaining an offer theoretically, but being below the entry requirements may put you at a disadvantage in the admissions process.

they have a feature on their website where you go to the course and put in your GCSE’s and A-Levels and they will tell you your likelihood of receiving an offer
