Will I still be elegible for NHS braces?

So you know how you need all of your adult teeth to get referred to an NHS orthodontist? Not all of my adult teeth came through until I was 16. This meant that I wasn't referred until I was 16. I've heard from other people that the waiting list is 4+ years. Will I still get free braces on the NHS once I turn 18 as it was out of my control? I can't find much about this online.

hey i have braces and i know that if you are under the age of 18 it is free but as soon as you turn 18 and get braces you have to pay
when i got braces i was about 16 so i didn't have to give money and it was free
my sister wanted to get braces but she couldn't and it was too expensive they asked for £30,000 or something like that
i think it is cause you become an adult and they need money

If you are added to an NHS waiting list before you turn 18, you will not have to pay after you turn 18. By being added to the waiting list, you started the braces process. I was added to a waiting list, but as my orthodontists decided to not add me to the waiting list for surgery for 3 years, I didn’t get them till 5 months before my 18th birthday.
