On hold at Bristol chem with year abroad

I have submitted an app and already been offered a place at Manchester, checked my email and I’m on hold for Bristol? I have A*A*A*A predicted and entry requirement is A*AA, is this normal?

It’s very normal. Bristol are quite well known for putting applications on hold till the equal consideration deadline in January, particularly for their more popular courses. It’s nothing to do with their being something wrong in your application, it’s just to ensure that the process is fair and nobody is being given an offer on a first come first served basis.

yeah makes sense, its just that manchester gave me an offer so I guess different unis approach apps differently
