Mathematics at cambridge.

I know this question has been asked multiple times before, but do you have to have be super smart and natural in maths or is it okay to just be quite competent. In my specific situation, (I don’t do IGCSE/ A levels) I find the maths fairly easy. I can’t grasp while I’m in class but outside class once I do a couple of questions I can solve most questions and I wouldn’t say I really struggle with understanding things or whatever. I mean, I feel like the way we’re taught maths is actually the easiest subject to score in, because it’s the same types of questions, but even so once I’ve got the hang on a concept I can do a lot of questions without external help, but I’m not like a natural or anything. I make a bunch of stupid errors, plus I like taking my time to think through things even if it isn’t neccessary, which I think really slows me down. So either I make a buch of careless errors such as not writing thetha, or I might to not be able to finish everything in that time. Will a mathematics degree in cambridge be too hard for me?

Have you tried giving the TMUA (entrance exam) papers a go and seeing how you find them? Bear in mind that STEP (exam you must sit in summer for cambridge entrance) is a lot harder than TMUA as well. Good luck!

For Cambridge i think its important to enjoy what you’re doing so you can cope with the workload better, if you just find maths at school you may not be able to cope with it when it gets difficult and frustrating if you dont actually really enjoy the process
Good luck!
