GCSE grades for Oxford PPE

Hello!, My GCSE grades are: 999999998 (8 grade 9s and 1 grade 8) with an additional A* in a HPQ. I was wondering If 9 GCSEs are adequate to a prestigious degree such as PPE at Oxford university, in addition I currently study at a Scottish private school which averages around 6,7,8 grades, assuming I get excellent A level grades and a good TSA score, am I in a good position for applying?

That’s all a stars according to Oxford so I would not worry about that. What type of subjects are you doing for a level?

Hello, Thankyou for you're reply! I'm actually doing Highers - which are scottish equivalent of AS level, I must do 5 subjects, but I do 6 instead- Maths, English, Chemistry, Physics, Economics and Modern studies

I'm not too familiar with the scottish system but tbh as long as you get a good proportion of A stars and/ A's to meet or exceed the entry criteria for PPE, you should be fine. I've attached Oxford's GCSE criteria for Eco + Management because I couldn't find the PPE version. Your grades would give you an average of 9.0, and considering PPE is generally less competitive than PPE, I wouldn't worry about your GCSE grades at all.

The average numbers of A*/9/8 grades for all applicants, shortlisted applicants, and applicants made offers are listed in the table below.
Average number of A*/9/8 grades
Applicants: 8.1
Shortlisted applicants: 9.1
Applicants made offers: 9.6

do yall think my gcses are alr? it’s my biggest concern rn, since eveyeone seems to have all 9s and a few 8s. i got 3 9s (english lit, lang and bio), 3 8s (french, RS and physics) 2 7s (maths and dt) , a 6 (chem) and a FIVE in art which is the bane of my existence.
bearing in mind that i do have extenuating circumstances (idk how much mine matter) and i go to a selective school where people mostly get 8s and 9s.
i’m predicted around A*A*A and my tsa practices are averaging around 75. i’m so nervous man

Yeah I'll be honest you might potentially be cooked if you're applying for Eco + Management, PPE at Oxford might be alright with those grades. The problem is that Oxford looks at the no of A* in your application *8's to 9's*, and you have 6 which is still ridiculously good. But in comparison to the average which is 8-9 A*, I'm not too sure about your chances. Perhaps your extenuating circumstances come in to play though.
