To any art students out there: Could i have some acrylic paint advice?

I'm going to paint my page with black acrylic paint and then after it dries, I was hoping to use lighter acrylic paints to paint over a section of it (when I say light, I mean like red, blue, beige etc basically any colour that isnt black lol) to do a title

But will the black paint show through? Does anyone think any of the lighter acrylic paints could be too transparent to paint over the black acrylic, or will it be fine?

I hope my question is understandable lol, thank youuu!!

Hi there,

I did art at a level. I think you should be okay with red and blue acrylic but beige may be a bit tricker to cover the black. You may have to do a few layers of paint, which could make it quite thick, but would cover the black acrylic.

Hi @lostwooloo

What you could do is some small scale experiment. Paint a smaller piece of paper black, and then just make a few strokes with the different coloured acrylics you have. Some are more transparent than others, and these small tests would tell you what works and what doesn't on swatches before committing to your bigger creative pieces.

Hope that helps.
