University ranks

What do you think is more important the university rank or the ranking of the course? My uni isn’t ranked too highly however the uni is ranked 36 for my course. Is the grade/ degree classification more important than the overall uni rank? I am studying a healthcare course

Mostly what matters is whether it's Russell Group or not, with the exception of Bath and St Andrews.

Complete rubbish I'm afraid - many employers can't even name the RG and many recruit institute blind.

All medicine degrees are considered equal and for Engineering, accreditation and a year in industry are important

The final classifcation of your degree is the most important and if your course is accredited by the appropriate body. Otherwise it matters not a jot.

None of the above except for degree grade.

All that matters for career specific and healthcare type courses is whether you are learning what you need to do a great job, and whether for early employment employers have decent regard for your training while at university. Ranking tables simply don't measure these things.

Absolute tosh, Russell group exists more in the mind of impressionable TSR posters. Its basically a PR brand and standards vary significantly within the collective.

I would disagree, the Russell group unis are all world renown and consistently rank as the top universities in the UK.

Even medical degrees matter, there are over 100 applicants for 20-30 places for speciality training posts. What do you think they use to differentiate candidates?

They do not use their university - it's institute blind.
