Which one is it? Most of them are an awful lot of money for things that you can get for almost free.

For something like that, you would probably be worthwhile doing as that's basically all you get out of that medic mentor subscription.
For the future, when studying for the UCAT there is many free questions and mocks so don't spend big on random courses for it. Also, many uni's do check your personal statements by those who mark it, so don't spend extra getting an outside marker to do it for you.
I would assume you aren't at that stage yet, but if you want the specific medic mentor perks, you will have to pay for them, just don't overpay for the things that are free.
Good luck in your journey!

the silver or gold one

My previous answer should probably suffice, I didn't mean what package specifically, but what in the package that you are wanting enough to pay for, because a lot of the time you can find it for free.

So I ask again, what are you looking for in the packages specifically?

Is the silver pathway worth it?? I keep on getting emails that there are applications for leadership positions open, im wondering if it would even be worth it to fork out £100 just for an application…

Just in general - do you need to go to a summer school to get into medical school? I’m really worried there are all these opportunities that im not doing, but it’s just so expensive.

No! You don't need to pay any crazy amounts of money to get in, I've known many people spend next to nothing and get in with many offers. The only thing they paid for was the obvious UCAS price and then UCAT practise questions that were quite cheap.

The basic method of getting into medical school is A's at school, getting decent work experience in a hospital and then medical related volunteering, doing well in the UCAT (an above average score), then finally when you get interviews after completing these steps you have practised and perform well on the day.

Best of luck!

Very difficult to say now, as there has just been a major change to the UCAT, completely removing an entire section. As a result of this, there is more time to study each of the other sections as well as more time in the actual exam so scores will differ vastly.

The UCAT used to be out of 3600 points with 4 sections, where the average landed around the 2600 point mark.
This year the UCAT will be out of 2700 points with 3 sections, abstract reasoning being removed (shapes and patterns)

So to answer your question, there is no average as of now and as a result, there is no above average. We will have to wait until the UCAT has been finished to see how it has changed.

It's a scam for unemployed doctors. The Indian woman who runs it ("Dr Siva") doesn't even practise medicine. I guess she figured a medical degree was a passport to swindle people. Most of the stuff they offer is free online, and ignore their terror tactics - which is key to the scam.
