Adult Nursing experience at LSBU Southwark Campus
Hi, I am considering applying for London South Bank University (Southwark Campus) for Bsc Adult Nursing. I was wondering if anyone could tell me more about their experience with the university, lecturers, quality of teaching, assessment marking, placements, study support and etc. The overall experience. Hello,
We are delighted that you are considering LSBU as a possible choice for your course. I am actually not on the Adult Nursing course myself, but I've been at LSBU for a few years and have quite a few friends studying it at the Southwark campus.
They’ve said the lecturers are really supportive, approachable, and many come from clinical backgrounds, so they understand what students are going through. LSBU is known for its strength in healthcare. It’s ranked as one of the top modern universities in London for health and was awarded Silver in the 2024 Teaching Excellence Framework, which reflects the quality of teaching and support.
Placements are a big part of the course, and my friends have had great experiences across London NHS Trusts in hospitals, community settings and specialist areas. They’ve also said the placements team is well-organised and helpful. There’s a lot of study support too, like help with academic writing, referencing, and time management, plus well-being services if things get stressful. Being based at the Southwark campus means you’re close to major hospitals and central London.
I’d definitely recommend looking into LSBU’s course page https://www.lsbu.ac.uk/ and even going for a campus tour if you can https://www.lsbu.ac.uk/study/study-at-lsbu/open-days/campus-tours. It’s a great way to see if it’s the right fit for you! From what I’ve seen, the nursing students have a great sense of community and really support each other. My friends feel well prepared and confident in their training. I’d definitely recommend LSBU!
