It's physically broken, you'll need the IT staff. Getting a broken headphone jack out without specialist tools is near impossible.

I doubt it, 'device manager' can't fix physical damage.

Hitting or throwing a laptop is rarely good for a laptop.

It is likely to be physically broken as it was physically hit. Mostly these are not repairable. Well they are, but the IT department is unlikely to try that and will just say it’s broken.

Depending on what access they have given you, you can try a few things yourself.

In settings under audio there is normally an option to run diagnostics. Some IT departments turn this option off (I can’t say exactly where it is in settings as I’m not at home today). Run the diagnostics if it lets you do that. It may advise some things you can do, but may also say that it cannot find a device. If the second then it’s physically broken.

i tried to do the diagnostics but it says an error when i try it or when it is being downloaded
some things on this laptop is controlled by them

Its BROKEN. Diagnostics/updates won't fix this.

You could use a pair of USB Headphones or speakers if you have some temporarily that use USB not Audio Jack

i can't use headphones as when my laptop was thrown on the floor with headphones plugged in without warning
it snapped the headphone plug in part and i cannot put any headphones in anymore
i can't change the volume or switch the type
