Eligibility of Biomedical Science as a second BSc? (SFE funding)

Hi all.

I have a health sciences BSc already which I received 1yr of SFE tuition fee funding on (plan 2).

I know that as a general rule, undergraduate funding is a no for those with an existing first degree but see that there are some exemptions for second degrees on the SFE site. One of those is 'biological sciences', does BMS come under that? It would be an FT IMBS accredited course. It straddles healthcare/biosciences but I know it's not on the healthcare exemption list.

Many thanks

Hi there,

When would the course start? Can you confirm the full name of the course, what university that you want to attend and the duration of the course? Is it a full time or part time course? To confirm you already hold an undergraduate degree?

Thanks, Drew

Hi apologies.

I do already hold a BSc but I only had SFE funding for 1yr of it and it was just the tuition fees element.

The course I'm looking at is the Biomedical Science BSc (Hons) (full time - 3yrs) at University of Worcester. Sept '25 start.

Many thanks.

Thanks. We do look at all previous study even if you had self funded or didn't receive the funding from us. I have enclosed the exception courses below for those studying full time or part time.

Thank you, Jason. BMS, isn't on the list, unfortunately. Never mind.
