Predicted Grades for Biological Sciences @ UCL & Edinburgh

Hello! I'm a Year 13 hoping to apply for biological sciences at Bath, York, UCL, Edinburgh & Bristol.
My predicted grades are A*AAA, but I'm a bit worried that this might not be enough to get into UCL and Edinburgh specifically. Whilst I meet the entry requirements, the acceptance rate for my course at UCL is 1 in 3 and 2 in 5 at Edinburgh. I am happy with my predicteds, but is it worth applying if lots of other applicants will probably have straight A*'s predicted?

You can’t control or determine the decisions made about other people’s applications, so there’s no point in worrying about that. If you meet the minimum requirements, you won’t be at a disadvantage. You also have to take into account that the historical data on UCAS shouldn’t be used solely as an indicator as to whether or not you’ll get an offer. It’s a good indicator for determining the competitiveness of a course, but you can never really know what a university is looking for in an applicant until they make their decision.
