Angle of elevation and depression

A and B are two points on the same level ground. A is 10 m due south of a vertical tower and the angle of elevation of the top of the tower from A is 58°. B lies 30 m away on a bearing of 69° from A.

(a) Ilustrate this information by means of a sketch, taking care to indicate clearly the appropriate distances and angles.

(b) Calculate, in metres:

08(ⅰ) the height of the tower

(ii) the distance of B from the foot of the tower.

The problem requires moderate mathematical competence, deep understanding of trigonometric concepts, and efficient application of mathematical principles like Pythagoras' theorem to succeed.

1.

Work on the eight of the tower using tangent line,

2.

work on the distance of B from the foot of the tower using Pythagoras' theorem.

PS: As a helper, I'm here to support you in solving your problem. If you're still struggling after receiving the hints above, you may need more guidance. In that case, I'll ask you to clarify what's unclear and provide additional explanations to help you understand the solution.
