UCLAN foundation year medicine

Hello, I just wanted to ask about the difficulty of progressing onto year 1? Additionally, do you progress upon successful completion automatically or do you have to apply again via UCAS? Thanks

Hey! Just so I can give you the right information, are you looking at the 6 year MBBS + foundation or the medical sciences foundation entry?

For the 6 year MBBS + Foundation (A101), as long as you are successful in your exams during the foundation year, you automatically progress onto the rest of the MBBS degree! You can view more about this here!

If you are looking at the Medical Sciences with foundation entry, this isn’t automatic progression and you would have to apply via UCAS!

I hope this helps and if you have any other questions please let me know!

Understood! But for the Medicine Foundation Programme (A101), do you need to sit another MMI or just meeting the exam requirements will automatically progress you to the standard medicine programme? Thank you!

Hi! You would automatically progress providing you pass the exams!

Hi @dani05_,

It's great that you are joining us through clearing! Our Facebook community will give you an idea of what to expect from university. It's a great way to make friends with people before you’ve even arrived here.

There is a community group for each undergraduate subject area where you can:

Make friends with people from your course or subject area.

Share resources and ideas on course assignments and projects.

Ask questions about your course and University life.

Keep up-to-date on Welcome events

Join the groups here.

You can also find more welcome information here including our handy checklist: Welcome and arrival information

Let me know if you have any questions 🙂
Best wishes,
^Zac
