the question is how can I plot a number like 8219 where every place number is to be shown with equal importance.

maybe use a log graph. goes up in powers of 10.
Or broken axis, start @ 8200.
Sorry dont really understand the question.

Do you mean you want to plot it as 4 separate digits?

If you want to parse a set of (say) 4 digit numbers as separate digits, use MS Excel's (string) functions to break up the numbers as you require them.

Then select and press F11.

Sorry if this is way off beam... I'm not sure I understand what you want to do either!

I really didn't get my question either, but I think the solution is just to graph each digit seperately. But what graph should I use? Bar graph perhaps?
