Can I reliably pursue Data science after biomedical science

I wanted to ask about career options after Biomed because I am currently looking into Data Science. It looks like you can go into masters degree or take online courses. I'm not sure if a background in science would help as it is more computer science based. I am currently at Manchester doing a Bsc in Biomedical science. My only computer science history is GCSE where I got a grade 7.

Hi @dkozi!

It's definitely possible to do an MSc Data Science course after completion of a biomed degree as you'll have experience with quantitative which is required for entry onto an MSc. If you want to pursue a career in data science I would recommend looking into a Master's. It's possible you could pursue it as a career without an MSc but you might face some barriers especially if you're going against applicants with computing or data science degrees.

I hope this helps!
Chloe🙂
