Chance of getting an offer for CS

I have a predicted grade of ABD. A-Compter Science, B-Psychology and D-math. I am looking to apply to University of Lancaster, Surrey and Leicester and I am confident I will get higher predicted on my mock exams December. What are the chances I receive an offer to them.

Depends on what the entry requirements are - but that D grade in Maths would be a red flag to most top Unis for CS

Maths is a critical subject for CS.
If the Uni is asking for an A grade, its unlikely you will get an offer.
And - if you struggle with Maths, do you really want to be doing a degree subject that relies on it?

This is a necro but I'd point out that Surrey's CS + foundation year has a CCC offer, and 84% of offer holders getting CCC got into Leicester. Would reckon the chances of getting into Lancaster or Surrey (sans foundation year) with a C in maths are near zero though.

HI folks,

Both Surrey (CCC) and Leicester (BCC) have computer science courses with foundation years - I hope everything has worked itself out for you by now but if you have not got offers from the unis you want then perhaps consider applying for a course with a foundation year instead, to support you with everything you need for the full BSc/MComp.

Best of luck with everything 🙂

You should get at the bare minimum a B in maths
