rammy’s gyg journey 😋

i’ve been feeling really bad about year 13 because of my past grades in year 12, and overall slump so this is going to be my little blog to hold me accountable and to write down what i do!! :3

i currently take chemistry maths and english literature a levels and finishing my epq.

it’s been really difficult mostly because the time to actually cover content decreases a lot so we go through a lot of information in a short amount of time. for example: i’ve already completed 6 chapters in maths in a term so it’s very intense! but i think i got used to it more than i did the jump from year 11 to year 12 and i’m trying to stay more consistent for my revision which i think is probably something for year 12. little but often! and don’t get too overwhelmed or burn out so take as many breaks as you need. :smile:

RIGHTT the content literally goes by so fast we did 9 chapters for maths in our first term like bro 😭 idk when they expect us to study/do wider reading/apply for supercurriculars etc i did a bit of work on maths in the summer so i was familiar with most of the as content for pure by the time we got back but i remember sitting in the lesson thinking if i hadn't done the extra work on this i would have no clue what is going on
also little but often is so real i swear i just study loads for a day or two then get burnt out really quickly and don't do anything for a month and i really need to work on that
i hope your doing okay if you ever need to vent stress lmao or anything pls lmk !
hii looking forward to following your blog! good luck from a fellow year 13 x

oops i forgot to upload yesterday so ill do two days at once heh.

monday 11/11: in my chemistry lessons, i’m covering electrochemical cells right now and i’ve been finding it difficult so i’m going to go over it this weekend. english literature was also okay - modern poetry is difficult to analyse only because there isn’t as much obvious techniques as there was with romantic poetry.

i studied for a total of 2 hours (sticking by that little but often) chemistry and maths!

for chemistry, i revisited over kinetics since i have a homework task that i have to catch up for due this week (mainly just exam questions). i used seneca and also revisited my anki flashcards and hopefully by revisiting the questions on thursday, it should help me retain it a little more, and i’ll make sure to do my anki flashcards on the bus.

maths since year 13 content isn’t really going slowly this year (😅 my schools trying to get it done for december), i was stuck on a modulus starter in my lesson last week so decided to revise that. doing exam questions and questions in my textbook really helped me to understand, so hopefully i won’t forget it and i’ll make sure to do spaced repetition with it!

///

tuesday 12/11: maths first period was somewhat understandable today. we were completing the second derivatives and implicit differentiation. it’s definitely making more sense than it did last year, and my teacher set us a homework task and i’ll make sure to actually do this 🙏. i didn’t have my chemistry lesson today due to my teacher being ill so i just spent it reading since i wasn’t feeling too well.

again revised chemistry and maths today for 2 hours (to change it up, i’ll probably just do anki flashcards on my commute to school for chemistry and focus more on english tomorrow). towards the end of year 12, my teachers rushed through a lot of year 13 content, so i’ve decided to interweave my year 12 chemistry revision with year 13, so today was thermodynamics. it’s a lot of definitions so it’s going to be mainly flashcards for those! and saturday, i’ve planned to do more of the born-haber cycle questions just since i’m feeling really tired today!

for maths, i really flopped my stats and mechanics tests at the end of year 12, because i never revised them and hated it so i’m now revising chapter 2. it’s very tedious but luckily after watching a video and doing questions, it’s making more sense. i focused on getting my linear interpolation perfect, and now i understand that concept fully, so it’s paying off!!

it’s probably not as much revision as i hoped to do, but 2 hours consistently is better than 0 revision so i’ll take the win! hopefully i can use my study period more effectively tomorrow for english revision ‼️
