At GCSEs i got grades 99888888876
is this good enough to apply to cambridge and imperial?

i guess it will depend on what you want to do and what you got in the related gcse subjects. i think it would be wiser to focus on your a level grades as they have a much greater impact, though if you want, if you are getting 8/9 in the subjects you like and above about a 7 in english and maths you should be completely fine

The quality of your GCSEs is only measured AFTER the quality of your A levels. Without A levels, your GCSE grades are meaningless in the process. GCSEs refine decisions, they don't act as a fundamental barrier.

Just think how may applicants come from overseas and don't have GCSEs, or come to the UK as teenagers and only sit a few, schools who limit the number that can be take etc etc.
