I applied to Imperial/UCL (was going to apply last year). I have UCL offer but not heard back from Imperial yet. I need to pay a deposit to UCL by end of Dec so hope I hear back before then.

Did anyone get into MSc Computer Science conversion course at Imperial with 2.1 final grade from undergrad?

I think I will just accept UCL if I don't get a response before then.

I prefer the programme of UCL and I like you can do an internship with a tech company as your dissertation project. The app engineering module is also with a real client. Imperial is much more theoretical in comparison.

I get what you mean. I'm interested in their computer vision and graphics modules. Also, they got a more diverse choices of modules.

I got offers for MSC CS at Bristol, Birmingham, Glasgow, Newcastle and Cardiff.
Preference is Bristol > Birmingham > Glasgow > Newcastle > Cardiff.

I wonder how long you waited to get the offer.

So fast! Thank you for sharing! Do you mind if I ask about your background?

Yes I was also surprised! Maybe because it's an unconditional offer. My background is 1st class mech eng degree from RG uni + 2 years work experience as a design engineer at large company.

I am hoping to start my application tomorrow! My concern is I didn't take A-level Mathematics, but my BSc was in Psychology from KCL which had quite a quantitative component to it. I am hesitant to apply without the A-level Maths though

I’m in the same position. I did Computer animation at Bournemouth University, no maths components but I did use maths for my research and development project. The R&D unit was self led though so it’s not reflected on my transcript.

Planning to submit my applications in the next few days, just have to write my personal statement for UCL. I am a bit worried now that I’m applying too late. Although for undergrad I don’t think most people applied till after mocks results came out so maybe I’m worrying over nothing?

I’m in the same situation and contacted the admissions department and programme leader. Both said not to bother with applying as they get so many applications that they don’t even consider 2.i degrees or people from less prestigious universities

I asked the admissions team about the lack of A levels and a UG degree that isn’t in engineering, math, physics etc, and they told me not to waste my time…

First time posting on this forum. I’ve been nervously reading through threads here since last October, and now that I finally have something useful to contribute, I thought I’d share my experience.

I applied to several universities (Bath, Warwick, King’s, UCL, and Imperial) on 23rd October 2024, and yesterday, I received an offer from Imperial to study MSc Computing.
I have a 2:1 undergraduate degree and a distinction in my postgraduate degree. Neither of them are science-related, but I did very well in A-level Maths and Further Maths, which I feel helped my application (Some universities requested my A-level certificate instead of my master's)
There were no admissions tests or interviews for all universities I applied.

I hope this information is helpful to those of you applying! Best of luck, and I hope we'll get the chance to study together this September.

I just paid the deposit to Imperial. Would you like to add me on WhatsApp and chat? My background isn't in science either.

Anyone else joining me in Bristol in September?
