What A-levels should I take?

Hello! How is it going! I'm a year 10 student and I'm a bit unsure about what I should choose for my future and I thought I should start to think about it now. Alongside the compulsory subjects, I do geo, french, art and computer science, and I would like to go into a career that involves computer science, I'm particularly interested in designing and animation, such as designing a character in a video game or animated films that involves art and computer science although I'm not that much into coding(If anyone get what I mean) and I don't really know what I should take in A-levels. I was thinking about taking Art, computer science maths and potentially further maths, but looking around the internet, I haven't seen a lot of people choosing this combination, and I don't know if I should go for it or not. My challenge grades are 99999778888(not sure about how accurate they are so I'm not that confident to achieve a similar grade although I've been getting around these grades in tests, I don't want to be too certain that I will get these grades) with 8,8,9 in comp, art and maths. Does anyone have any suggestions or advice? Thanks

Take BTECS if you want to save your mental health and one a level in something easy like sociology or film

That sounds like a great combination for what you want to do 🙂 Your predicted grades are really strong too which is fantastic.
If you want to go into computing then maths is essential, fm will benefit you for top unis, and computer science could be helpful if you enjoy it. Art is a good choice if you want to go into animation, or potentially something like graphic if your school offers it.
I think people are reluctant to take double maths with art because art has a huge volume of work and further maths is very challenging so that would take up a lot of time too.
My suggestion would be to take all 4 and then if it got too much you could drop either fm or computer science or art (depending on how your aspirations, interests and ability to cope with the difficulties of the subjects changes).
It might also be worth you checking what is covered on a level comp sci to see if the topics appeal to you.
Do you do any further maths qualifications at the moment? If not then it might be worth studying some of the content in your free time or over the summer. I did level 3 fsmq alongside my GCSEs and i am now finding that very helpful background in a level maths.
Hope this helps and happy to try to answer any further questions! Hope you have a great day 🙂

Hi I actually have a couple of friends taking maths, further maths, computer science and art and they love it! I completely agree with the advice @DerDracologe has given!

Art is a lot of work and though it could be useful for your career path, you don’t need to take it as an A-level. Keep in mind that you’ll need to do 20 hours of extra art work each week if you want an A, and you will have CS coursework as well.

You could do a foundation year in art/illustration/design/animation which is completely free and could give you to space you need to do a degree in design.

I think you should go for it, if you like those subjects! My best friend does Physics, Art, Maths and Further Maths, and she seems to like it :]
