I've moved your thread to the Mature Students forum as there are many discussions on here about Access courses and providers. Have a read through the following thread:

Hi, I've taught on an Access to HE program for over 10 years.

Before you apply for Access, have you got English, Maths and Science GCSE's at grade 4 or above? The reason I ask is that on first go, without those, your application for Uni would likely be rejected due to the high level of competition. They typically use the lack of GCSE grades to filter out applicants early, so it is best doing any missing ones first.

Key things to look for - that the course is accredited to an awarding body, it is Open Awards in the North West. Also, check with the admissions tutor at the University/ies of your choice as to whether this particular course has the right credits to progress onto their nursing pathway (it likely will). Most Universities take Access learners, a large percentage of Manchester Nursing students come from Access to HE programs

@KalaTurbull

It depends what you want to go into. For Nursing they require English and Maths, for Midwifery they tend to want Science as well
