Choosing what to do with your life

I'm currently a year 12 pupil and I have no idea what I want to do in the future. I'm torn between multiple options, and I feel like I need to choose fast so I can get the right work experience etc. How do you go about choosing what you want to do in the future?

Hi there,

I would first think whether you want to continue with education or not - this doesn't necessarily have to be University there are other options like doing a degree apprenticeship.

I know it feels like there's a rush to decide, but you don't need to know in year 12 what you want to do with the rest of your life. If you leave year 13 and go into something and decide that's not what's right for you, you can change your mind! You can change careers, apply to university, try out a different kind of work experience. There isn't a rush to know what you want to do - you can change your mind and that's okay! I would just recommend talking to people that have done a range of things and just try out and research different paths until you find what suits you.

Hope this helps!
