A- Level - Career options/degree advice

A-Levels: Biology Chemistry Maths (I'm in year 12)
GCSE: 9998888875 (5 in English language)

I want to do a stem based career/degree. I was looking at clinical Science (as a career) but the only thing that is putting me off is the competitive scientist training programme so I'm not sure if when I apply after I finish my degree I'll get on.

If I did an apprenticeship in biomedical science, will that help?

Hello,
Your GCSEs seem great, congratulations! The Scientist Training Programme is quite competitive, but I'm pretty sure there are other routes you can take. Make sure the clinical science/biomed/biochem degrees you apply for are accredited, otherwise it won't be accepted by the NHS.
Talk to your career advisor for more information. If you like Chemistry, you could consider doing Pharmacy, or Dentistry, maybe look into Comp Sci/Engineering

The NHS does offer degree apprenticeships in biomedical science. The course takes four years instead of three, but it does have multiple positives - it pays, there is no student loan (degree fees are funded for you), you get your professional registration as part of the course, and you get four years of work experience and will be working within in an NHS laboratory which really helps with STP applications.
