Mat 2k24

How did everyone find the MAT?
What do you think the mean and averages will be this year?
I found it so difficult. 😭
How many positive real solutions are there for tan(x+90)=e^x ?

Can you sketch it to get some inspiration?

Can you sketch it to get some inspiration?

I said infinitely y many, not sure whether they have restricted the range

Ive not seen the full question, but if its as you posted, there would be an infinite number of solutions due to the vertical asymptotes of tan.

I believe the answer was 8

What did people get for the bulb question? Probability 1/i and find probability of n-1 bulbs working

How?
There was no range so I put infite as well because tan approaches infinity quicker than e^x
Guys does anyone remember this
f(x) =3x^2-2x
x_n= n/N
And find expression for s?

what did you get? i put down 1/2(n-1)!
how about the equation of c2 with radius 2root3, i got (x-3)^2+y^2=12

I skipped that one and forgot to come back to it lmao
Honestly guys no point of stressing over what the answers were u can’t change it now anyways
I agree no matter the score, there is still risk of rejection as well as chance of being shortlisted. That said Oxford maths is live-streaming on youtube the 14th* and will be going through the paper.
