Caledonian Multimedia Journalism

Has anyone done or is currently on the Multimedia Journalism course at Caledonian University? I’ve applied for there as well as Strathclyde. What is the course like? Small classes? Very practical? Organised and enjoyable?

I did the MA course at GCU and it is really good. It's quite full on, usually there from 10-5pm except Wednesdays which are shorter. It is very practical, except for two classes that are more lecture style and have exams at the end of the year you have to sit. Course usually isn't that big, maybe 20 people max. It is reasonably organised and the staff are nice. I enjoyed my year a lot, and it gives you a great head start for you career in journalism or PR. There are video/ radio projects you have to complete, your own news stories you source and write, a few exams, essays, project, work experience etc. The UG is very similar.

Thanks for the reply - much appreciated. I’ve been offered a place on the BA at Caledonian and a place at Glasgow Uni to do BA Film and Tv studies. I can’t decide whether to do the 4 year BA at Caledonian or the 4 year film and tv degree at Glasgow followed by the 1 year MA at Caledonian. Any thoughts? Thanks
