For what subject? What are you interested in/considering pursuing after school? There is no point in doing work experience unrelated to your subject of choice, unless you want insight into how the job works and whether you like it. If you're looking for general work experience, maybe do it at your old/local primary school, or a nursery/kindergarten?
I'm thinking in persuing a career in medicine when I grow up
If you are 17, a good option for work experience would be shadowing a GP or doing a hospital placement in the summer holidays for 2/3 weeks. Work experience is better done in the holidays. If you can't find any experience, try volunteering at a care home/hospice, or even get a retail job 🙂
