I would suggest that you check your preferred chosen universities and see what there entry requirements are for nursing.

Each university sets there own entry requirements for all the nursing degrees.
Some universities might ask for a science subject, whereas others might ask for either chemistry or maybe biology, you will have some not requiring any science.

Do your research on the universities website and see what you are needing.

You might need to retake your GCSE depending on the requirements of the unis you want to apply to. What level 3 qualifications do you have?

Have you found any unis that state they accept CACHE level 3 childcare for the course? If they don't, you might need to consider taking an Access to HE diploma at a local college or online.

What is a cache level 3 qualification equivalent to.....
When it comes to qualifications in the field of education and childcare, the CACHE Level 3 qualification is highly regarded. CACHE stands for the Council for Awards in Care, Health and Education, and their Level 3 qualification is equivalent to other qualifications in the same field.

Here is a comparison of the CACHE Level 3 qualification with other similar qualifications:

CACHE Level 3 Equivalent Qualification
CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education Equivalent to two A-levels
CACHE Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce Equivalent to two A-levels
CACHE Level 3 Award in Childcare and Education Equivalent to one A-level
CACHE Level 3 Certificate in Childcare and Education Equivalent to one A-level

As you can see, the CACHE Level 3 qualification is equivalent to A-level qualifications, which are typically taken by students in the UK at the age of 16-18. This means that completing a CACHE Level 3 qualification can open up opportunities for further education or employment in the education and childcare sector.

Employers and universities often recognize the value of CACHE qualifications and may consider them equivalent to traditional academic qualifications. This makes CACHE Level 3 a valuable qualification for those looking to pursue a career in childcare or education.

Overall, the CACHE Level 3 qualification is a respected and recognized qualification in the field of education and childcare, and it can provide a solid foundation for further study or employment opportunities.

Hi there!

That's great to hear you want to be a children's nurse! It's such a rewarding career. Do you have any universities in mind?

The entry requirements will differ at each university, but to study BSc (Hons) Nursing Studies (Child) at Teesside University, you need a minimum of two GCSEs at grade 4 (C) or above including English language and maths. Plus, 112 points from two or three A levels, or equivalent T levels. We also accept a range of other qualifications, including CACHE Level 3 Extended Diploma in Health & Social Care - you can find out more on the course page here. Therefore, don't worry if you don't have science if you want to come to Teesside, as long as you have other qualifications.

If you'd like to find out more and speak to our child nursing lecturers and current students, we have an open day on Saturday 23 November. You can book your place here.

I hope this helps, and best of luck on your child nursing career!

Thanks 😄
