Hi there!
I'm a third-year at York St. John, studying Psychology. I also have additional needs, and it was one of the most important things when I was considering which university to pick. I eventually decided on York St. John, and I really recommend it! We've got a creative writing course that might interest you, I'll put the link to the course page here.

Some of the support services YSJ offered include;

1.

YSJ has specialist disability practitioners. When you start here, they create a "learning adjustment plan" for you. This can include modifications to assessments to make them more accessible, extensions, extra time or rest breaks in exams, using a computer in exams, and so much more. // Link to Disability Support

2.

The early start programme! This is a program that allows students who might need a more supported start to university, start a few days before everyone ese. This way you can get used to the campus whilst it is still quiet. // Transitioning to University Page

3.

The support networks - we have two student networks, run by students, for students. The one I'd highlight here is the disabled students network - this is a social support group, they hold study nights, accessible social events, and more. You can find their page on Instagram for more info (@ysjdsn)

We also have dedicated wellbeing services, where you can self-refer for 6 free counselling-style sessions at any time, as well as a student health centre on campus. // Link to Wellbeing Support.

This page may also be helpful to have a look at - it details entry requirements for students from the US! // USA Students

If you have any other questions, let me know! I'll do my best to help🤗
