Hi! I did my iGCSE English Language last year so I have a list of predictions made from that time
I think the predicted text for November would be one of these three:

The Danger of a Single Story

Explorers or Boys Messing about

The Explorer's Daughter

If you want, I have a list of all the previous texts from June 2018 till June 2024 (the exam I took). Let me know if you would like to see it 😁

Thank you, I was also predicting the danger of a single story and the explorers daughter! And yes I'd love to see your list =)
Btw were you able to predict correctly for your igcse? Hope it went good!

Awesome! Here is the list:

The prediction list in black is from a YT video which I had watched which I screenshotted.
As you can see, I was able to predict correctly although it was the text I wanted the least from my predicted haha 🥲 (was personally hoping for explorer's daughter or danger of a single story). I would honestly recommend not looking over the texts that have appeared recently as there is an extremely low chance of them coming but then again, Night in p2 eng lang did appear two times in a row although it was June 2021 then June 2022 (r) so perhaps just ignore the papers that appeared recently according to whether you are taking the regional paper or not.

I also was able to get a grade 9 in the subject, which I was confident I would get as it was my favorite and best subject 😆😆

Wishing you all the best for the GCSE exam!! Let me know if I can help you with anything else 🤗

This is so helpful! And yess I don't think anyone wants journey into bhutan as their text ahaha. The predicted texts are ones that I prefer so I'm pretty happy with that!
I'm hoping to get a 9 too but I'm pretty nervous, seeing that you got that (congrats 🥳🥳) do you have any tips/tricks for the subject and exam? =)
Thank you!!

Funnily enough I had some psychopath friends who loved journey into bhutan... 😨😂

Make sure you have good annotations for the texts (if you haven't already, I highly recommend checking out Mrs Rumsey on YT since she was the only other source of revision I did other than practice papers. Her annotations are very nice and concise! But of course, practice papers are the best way to revise. I'd advise you to do past papers which have the predicted texts (refer back to my predictions sheet to find the exam papers)!

I'm going to copy some advice I posted in another thread here:

Some important things you should know for the English Language Exam:

Know is what the question is exactly asking you, and making sure you answer the point (and NOT waffle on). For the first few questions in P1 Q1-3, only answer as much as needed, don't spend extra time on those questions- you should finish Q1-3 within 10-15 mins or less.

In P1 Q4, they ask you for language and structure so make sure you talk about BOTH. Not only one of them, both- even if you can only find one point for structure and lots for language, talk about that one point for structure as well as the language points!

For the P1 Q5, make sure when you compare you talk about BOTH similar and different things about the two texts. I know that a few people in my school missed out on a lot of marks (in their mocks thankfully) because they only talked about the different. Read the question properly, check what exactly they want you to compare. Aim to write 4-6 paragraphs for this.

I'm not sure if you are doing the P2 for English Language or the coursework but I'll just post advice for the P2 since that is what I did just in case you are doing it:

For P2 Q1, talk about all the bullet points in much depth as possible. I think I dedicated around 45-50 mins to this question since it is 30 marks from what I remember, but just say as much as you can. I recommend around 5-6 paragraphs personally, though I know more people who did more.

For the transactional in P1, make sure you write in the style that is given to you, and make the tone appropriate.
The imaginative story in P2, try to make a short but interesting story by using lots of figurative language. Or, if you don't think you can brainstorm in the exam, what a lot of my friends did was brainstorm one or two stories (before the exam) and memorize them. Then, they'd adjust the story so that it fit one of the given prompts. Personally, I didn't think it was a great idea but most of them were able to do this for the actual exam with success, so I was proven wrong lol.

I'll be doing the iGCSE English Literature exam this year, so unfortunately I can't give too much advice, although if you have coursework, I'd be happy to give you advice. I've been helping lots of people in school (and outside) with their coursework for the Drama component (A View From the Bridge OR An Inspector Calls) so I do not mind at all to help out 😁😁

Hope this helped!

Thank you, you managed to sum up a year's worth of content 😁
I'm doing english literature coursework too! I'd appreciate your advice (I'm doing an inspector calls).
Btw did you use PETAL/PEEL techniques for your answers? Personally, I find my answer flows much better when I don't restrict myself to these patterns most schools teach. What do you think?
tysm again =)

Hahaha no worries!!
I think I should have specified earlier a bit better, but I would help check for spelling, grammar, vocabulary and general analysis for the coursework by adding suggestions to them on Google Docs 😊 If you would like me to check it for you, let me know again.
PEEL is the one my school taught us, and I know it helped lots of people in the exam. HOWEVER, I personally did not actually use it properly. Like you said, my answer tended to flow better when I didn't restrict myself to the pattern. But, I would still stick to it more or less. For example, instead of the usual Point Evidence Explanation Link, I may have done Point Evidence Explanation Evidence Explanation Link. I remember sometimes I didn't even use the structure and wrote a general answer which I worked hard on to make it all linked, which earned me a good chunk of marks. I would say try to stick to the general format but don't feel too restricted by it.

Try to switch up how you start these paragraphs for instance. Instead of saying 'For example', say 'This is shown by the quote' etc. Don't try and repeat the same words and same structure all the time; it makes the answer sound boring and rather dull.

Hope this helped again

Hi
Do you think young and dyslexic can come ?

Hello!
So, based on the list of previous exam questions, Young and Dyslexic last came out Jan 2022 and June 2023R. I personally think there is a low chance of it coming up this year (perhaps for the people not taking regional there is a higher chance though??). On the other hand, Danger of A Single Story is a text which has a high probability of coming up on either of the papers so I would recommend looking over that.
All in all, try to be prepared for all the texts (as my English teacher said, there is an equal chance of anything coming up though the examiners do try and not repeat every year) but I personally would recommend prioritizing looking over texts that you are not confident in and most likely to come up.

Hope this helps!!

Well, based on my predictions from last year, I am assuming it is one from the following:

Significant Cigarettes

Disabled

Bright Lights of Sarajevo

I was personally hoping last year that I would get Bright Lights but I got Still I Rise instead (which was fine, because that was one of my other predicted text as well lol) and from what I heard the Unknown Girl was also last year as well.
