history a level

from september to the middle of february we studied the tudors in which i absolutely enjoyed and was getting A’s and B’s in tests. however we moved onto to germany which i’ve had no interest in resulting me getting a U in my june mock as i hated the topic. its now november of year 13 and i haven’t done my coursework (which is on germany) that is due tomorrow as i have zero motivation. shall i drop year 13 this year and restart in September to relearn everything from last year and also it would give me time to research and do my coursework as at this rate ill be getting a U in the real exams if i continue. we’re starting tudor revision next month and i dont know anything about Germany.

Getting a U is an astonishingly bad result for someone achieving A/Bs previously. Having zero interest doesn't explain that to me. Was something else going on?

hi, to clarify i was getting A’s and B’s on the tudor topic in history but when we started the germany content i had zero interest in learning the content as i could not get myself too for some odd reason and ended up getting a U in the june mock on germany and its november and we’re still doing germany (included as part of the coursework) which i have not revised at all and its all piling up (which is 50% of my a level in total) it’s november now and im afraid that its too late and my coursework is due tomorrow and i haven’t done it. so should i drop this year 13 as i put myself in a difficult situation?

If you haven't done your coursework then your grade is basically screwed. What was so bad about the topic that you couldn't be @rsed to do any work on the German topic/s?

I've got no idea what rules your school has on students who want to restart a year, I'm afraid.

i just found it boring so i didn’t bother with it which has cost my grade significantly now. i do have the option of resitting year 13.

I'm still curious as to what it was about the topic that made you shut down.

That said... Would you have to resit your other subjects as well or just history? How are you doing in your other subjects? What do you hope to do after completing A-levels?

i honestly don’t know. i’m getting A’s in bio and chem so it’s quite a shame that i let myself down with history. I’m hoping to do
pharmacy and i need AAB.

Well, AAU is unlikely to get you into pharmacy anywhere. If that's the case then do you have any choice but redoing the year?
