Cardiff Uni Football

What are the football opportunities like at Cardiff if you are just an average local league player? How do you get to the sports pitches from the city centre?

Hi there,

Im studying at Cardiff uni, and there are a few different football clubs you can join. So there is the main uni football society (one for womens football, and one for mens), following this some subject departments have their own football societies, for example medics football, geography football, law football and more. For the main uni teams they do try-outs at the start of the year, and to the best of my knowledge subject teams don't have tryouts, so anyone can join. Most of the uni's sports facilities are in Talybont, so not far from where most students live. When training is further or away games take place more often than not they hire coaches/mini-vans to help transport the team.

Im glad!
Ok so it looks like the business and economics school do have a football team, but its slightly unclear. But regardless you can still join other subjects' football teams if not the main university one. The subject based teams play against mostly other subject teams in the Uni, and the main university football team play against other unis too!
