What is the eligibility for the SSL?

For some reason I am finding it difficult to find definitive information about it on either gov.uk website or SFE.

When I started Uni I wasn't in receipt of PiP, but have been receiving it for 2 years now, and on my SFE renewal, I don't remember ever seeing any questions asking if I was in receipt of PiP or applying for the SSL?
Hi there,

It is questions that we ask on the application. If you have not indicated this on your application we would not ask for the evidence to process this on your application. So you now receive PIP? Have you ever sent this evidence to us?

Thanks, Drew

I have been in receipt since 2022 and I haven't sent it in no.

Is it worth writing a letter or email to SFE to explain this and send in evidence?

I honestly can't remember on the initial applicatio if it was asked. Is it asked when you do renewal for SFE as I don't remember it on there either?

I'm worrying I've done it wrong.
Hi there. You can write a letter advising you wish to apply for the Special Support Loan (SSL) and provide your PIP letter. Please make sure you upload the full letter and it shows a date within the Academic Year (e.g. September 2024 onwards) that you have been awarded PIP.

The PIP letter should have an awarded 'from' and 'to' date on there, unless it states it has been awarded for an indefinate period. Thanks, Leah.
