Is it worth applying to Oxford Medicine with these GCSEs?

I got 988888777 at GCSE; is it worth applying to Oxford if I get good predicted grades, a good UCAT score, a good personal statement, and a good interview

I'd say yes becuase you don't want to miss that opportunity when your grades are really good. Important thing to note is that you've gotta start looking into supercurriculars in yr12 and 13 but if you don't feel like oxford is for you then don't stress- its up to you whether you want to. But your grades are really good so its worth a try. I remember seeing a pdf of all the people who got into oxford and their grades and its very varied. I'll see if I can find it and send it on here because it can open your mind on what an oxford student is like on paper.

Good GCSE results but unfortunately Oxford is very likely to reject you pre-interview (sorry for reality check). Oxford tend to look at applicants with average 10x 8/9s. Look at the stats in the link below

Cambridge would be a slightly better option as they look at applications holistically, assuming your hypothetical UCAT next summer is good.

yeah I did some more research and you seem to be right lol. If I maximise my other stats and apply to Cambridge with these GCSEs as my only weakness, do you think I'll have a realistically competitive application?

Concentrate on your yr 12 and get good predicted results (making sure you are doing 3 stem subjects for Cambridge) AND UCAT AND work experiences.

It is too early for you to think whether you are competitive or otherwise. So many candidates did not do well in UCAT......
