Does the University of Bath interview for chemistry?

Hello, I am currently in year 13 and I have applied for chemistry at the University of Bath. I was wondering if anyone could tell me whether Bath does interviews for chemistry. If so, what does the interview entail? For example, are the questions solely knowledge based ie. chemistry/maths questions or are there also more personal questions eg., why do you want to study chemistry. I have emailed the Bath admissions team and they said that an interview will be necessary but I cannot find any information about chemistry interviews on their website. Thank you very much.
Hi there Ioannas,

In most cases the only subjects we interview for are Pharmacy and Social work, and only occasionally do people get interviewed for other subjects. My advice would be to email the back [email protected] or call them 01225 383019 and ask them this question, perhaps they could give you a brief breakdown of what they expect.

In general, in any interviews just try to be yourself, be aware of you body language (try not to wring hands or clutch your neck as this implies you are feeling under threat!), be honest if you are not 100% sure of an answer but explain how you would go about solving the problem, don't be afraid to ask for thinking time and make sure to ask 1-2 questions to the interviewers (e.g. what is the best part of your role? When can I expect to hear the outcome of the interview?)

I really hope this helps,

Best wishes and best of luck!
