Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, University of London. --Highly regarded for its acting program with a strong emphasis on both classical and contemporary theatre

Guildford School of Acting (GSA), University of Surrey -- Offers a comprehensive acting course with a focus on both stage and screen acting

London South Bank University -- Known for its Acting for Stage and Screen BA (Hons) program

Southampton Solent University: -- Offers an Acting and Performance BA (Hons) program with a good employment rate for graduates

Coventry University-- Provides a well-rounded Acting BA (Hons) program with a high employment rate.

University of Essex -- Offers a BA (Hons) Acting program with a good overall rating

Norwich University of the Arts -- Known for its strong acting program and high employment rate for graduates

These universities are all highly respected and offer excellent training and opportunities in the field of acting. It's a good idea to visit their websites, attend open days if possible, and talk to current students or alumni to get a feel for the programs!
Do any of these stand out to you, or do you need more information on any specific one?
The first two suggestions above are good ones (Central and GSA). I'd add RADA, Guildhall, LAMDA, Royal Welsh, Birmingham Conservatoire, Rose Bruford, Bristol Old Vic and possibly Leeds Conservatoire, LIPA and Manchester School of Acting. The other universities listed may well have excellent courses and teachers but they are not regarded as top flight by the industry - I guess it depends what you want to do afterwards.

Thank you. I was just wondering if manchester metropolitan has a drama school within it and if so, if it has industry links. I know they are all so hard to get into x
Do you want to train for a career as an actor or do you just want to study acting/drama with a view to working in education/the arts/other career?

Hi @Makaton1972

Our BA (Hons) Acting course is based within the Manchester School of Theatre and has strong links with many of the region's key employers including BBC, RNCM, the Hallé Orchestra, Royal Exchange Theatre, HOME, Bolton Octagon, Oldham Coliseum, Hull Truck Theatre and The Lowry.

I recommend coming along to our next undergraduate open day on 23rd November where you'll have the chance to look at our facilities, explore our campus and talk to tutors to see if Man Met and the Manchester School of Theatre is the right fit for you🙂

I want to train for a career in acting
Bristol Old Vic Theatre School - application is direct, not via UCAS, so that could be a good extra choice
BA (Hons) Professional Acting - Bristol Old Vic Theatre School

In which case you need to attend a spotlight/Equity accredited drama school rather than a university.

Have a look at the ones on FDS website https://www.federationofdramaschools.co.uk/about-us/partner-schools

& also the CDMT accredited schools https://cdmt.org.uk/accredited-professional-training/
