Hi, thanks for your question. My name is Aiyesha, and I am a student ambassador at the University of Birmingham. Your A-Level qualifications are likely still valid for university applications, including for Biochemistry at the University of Birmingham, provided they meet the required grades and subject criteria. Universities typically do not impose strict time limits on A-Level validity unless the course content has changed significantly or the field requires recent academic engagement. However, some universities may have concerns about gaps in education, especially for science-based courses, as they involve continuous learning.

It is advisable to contact the admissions team at the University of Birmingham directly to confirm whether your existing A-Levels are sufficient and discuss how to present your extenuating circumstances.
