MSc Adult Nursing Pre-Registration

Hi,
I am bit confused by the term pre-registration. Does anyone know about this course? I did my bachelor’s in different background not related to healthcare but I have 2 years of work experience in healthcare setting and this 2 years MSc Adult Nursing(Pre-registration) course is for people from different background who wish to become nurse. I am planning to study this course and wish to start working as RN. if I complete this course will it be equivalent to Band 5 RN in the UK ? Because my friends are telling me that this course will lead to pre-reg nurse jobs and then I will have to study another 18months to be able to do medications and IV. Is it true?
I have shared link of the university offering this course

What does nursing pre-registration mean........
The MSc Adult Nursing (Pre-registration) is an accelerated postgraduate course developed for those who have already graduated with an undergraduate degree. You'll gain the experience and skills required to practice as an adult nurse in two years, rather than the traditional three-year route.

Each university will have there own requirements for the course's and also timeframe of you qualifying. Check out the university course details.

All newly qualified NHS nurses in the UK starts at the bottom of Band 5 Pascale and then you'll have opportunities to climb the career ladder as you gain more and more experience as a nurse.

You are trained on medication and how to do IV and blood taking during your time as a student nurse.

Hi! I'm currently on an MSc Pre-Registration Adult Nursing course. So to work in the UK as a nurse you need to be registered with the NMC Council. This pre-reg course is specifically for people that already have an undergraduate bachelors degree, that have relevant experience in healthcare, and that want to change career to being a registered nurse. There are MSc Nursing degrees that are for already qualified experienced registered nurses, and these are for people wanting to specialise in a certain area. Hope this helps!

Yes, this course leads to registration with the NMC so you will graduate with the MSc as a band 5 adult nurse. I was programme director for a similar MSc at a different Uni. Most hospital trusts will expect all newly qualified nurses to undertake their IV drug admin courses dependent on where you plan to work. Good luck with your application.
