Access course and struggling

Doing an Access to HE course with diagnosed schizophrenia (no symptoms at all) in Science and I find the content to be okay but have one question. I have an exam today but unfortunately having to miss it as I got taken advantage of and need emergency contraception. Apparently, OCNR? I don’t remember the name of the board but I have a genuine reason but don’t want the absence to affect my studies. How should I aproach this situation?

Hi, I’m really sorry to hear about what has happened to you, and hope you have support.

I don’t know about OCNR, but with Gateway at the college I did my access course with last year, the teacher told us we needed a doctor’s note, which we should get on the day of the exam or before, but which clearly says we were unwell on the day of the exam enough to not attend.
If you feel comfortable to speak to your GP about it (especially if it is also relating to schizophrenia), maybe they can write a doctor’s note for you to say you were unable to do the exam? I imagine they can put it is for personal reasons or/and mental health related or something similar, if you don’t want to share with the teacher/college, but you could ask the GP about this.

There may also be some sort of support team at your college eg which includes for mental health or personal situations, who you could maybe get advice from if you feel comfortable with that? Maybe they can suggest another option or talk to the teacher on your behalf, without giving details, but saying you have a personal situation which affects you doing the exam.

There may be other options I am not aware of.

I hope you can find the support you need for this.
