Oxford doesn't really let you progress to an MSc masters programme, unless you are already working in teaching - plus there is a high requirement of a high 2:1/1st class if you even want to enter the programme, despite PGCE requirements being a 2:2. I would also say the topics aren't as engaging or interesting compared to the ones Cambridge offer - however this is a personal opinion. Finally, Oxford's masters course is part time 2 years, whilst Cambridge offer a 1 year part time masters - time and money wise, I found it smarter to go with Cambridge. Cambridge have a dedicated masters course for students progressing from PGCE to MEd - much more specialised!

I went to my cambridge interview they said its 2 years part time.. not one year 1 part time, thats like impossible

For Cambridge, I see that there is no prior writing assignment but one on the day. Do you also prepare the presentation on the day or do they give you one to present ? Thx

The interviewers were quite nice actually but I have been asked more than 12 questions in 35 mins. And some questions were really unexpected. Is that normal? Haha I am panicking

Hiya! Would you be able to give a bit more insight into what the interview was like and the style of the questions please? I have an interview this week and I'm super nervous - especially after seeing this, haha. P.S I hope you hear some positive news back soon!

Hi! Sorry for not replying in time. I was actually rejected by Oxford and has decided to accept the offer from another uni, but I am more than happy to share some experience. I would say the maths tutor in PGCE Oxford emphasized a lot about secondary school experience, so maybe relate to your school experience day when answering questions. For me, I had only one school experience day in secondary state school, and all other experience in primary school and summer camp. I reckon that is the reason for rejection lol, and I do recommend attending school experience days in different secondary schools if possible. Also, ask yourself some extended questions based on the given documents, that would be helpful. Fingers cross for your interview and wish you good luck!
Hello all - congratulations to those of you who have received offers over the last few days and fingers crossed to those of you who are still waiting.
