Tips for Applying for PGCE manchester met

I am finalising my personal statement for my application to do a social science PGCE at Manchester Metropolitin starting sept. 25

Does anyone have any last-minute tips, support/ motivation ?

Alternatively, I would love to speak to anyone else applying and have a conversation on our motivations and goals and prepare for interviews!!

I am so excited to finally do something I am interested in!

Hi @kikisdelivery

It's great to hear that you're applying to study at Manchester Met!

We love when applicants can show their passion and motivation for wanting to pursue teacher training in their personal statement - so I recommend thinking about what made you want to become a teacher, what kind of teacher you want to be, etc. If you have any teaching experience to talk about that would be great, but don't worry if you don't because it isn't a compulsory requirement! There's some great guidance for personal statement writing on the Get Into Teaching website which you can find here

I recommend coming along to our Postgraduate open day on 13th November to get the chance to look around the university and ask any questions you might have about your application.

I hope this helps!!

Chloe😀
