gap year after year 12

due to poor mental health, i am currently taking a gap year after year 12. i need opinions if it would benefit or be a loss to my studies. i’m planning on staying consistent. i am predicted AAB but due to poor mental at the end year 12 i achieved BDU in my mocks but my predicted grades aren’t too bad as i did well throughout the year. any opinions or thoughts on my decision?

if it's what you need, do it. I think it will be good for you to get your mental health in better shape - that's the most important thing. As long as you believe you're capable of keeping your subjects up to scratch by revising content every so often, or whatever works for you, I think it's a good choice.
I don't know anyone who's done the same as you, but I know many Y13s who are either a year older than their peers from earlier circumstances, or from resitting a year - so you're not alone in that. Good luck and I hope life treats you better :>
