Question on a level art??!!

Hey guys

I took GCSE art and got a 9. I’m now taking A-Level art and have to create a piece in my owntime to show certain lighting techniques. I have apiece I made during GCSE art (I handed it in as adevelopmental, so a pretty major part of mycoursework) that would be pERFECT to show this, and would save me the time making a new pieceas I have work, essays etc.

Is there some way I’d get disqualified or somethingfor re-using a gcse art piece in my alevel project? It’s not playing as much of a significant part, just anartist study.

You can’t use your GCSE art. You can rework it or redraw it but you can’t submit it as a piece of artwork. You could perhaps use it to back up your ideas in a “I’ve made something similar to (insert new artwork here) before for GCSEs and wanted to expand on it.” It can’t be used for anything that could gain you marks however. I would just avoid it completely.

Thanks very much. Can I ask how do you know this? Does it say in rules and regulations or something?

Yes, it’s in the rules for the course which you can find in your exam board’s website. It’s considered plagiarism.
