Hey
@Hayliony90,
Sorry to hear you're feeling uncertain about the courses you've applied for, but you do still have options! Our MA Social Work is only taking applications via UCAS this year (I checked in with our admissions team and they advised the direct applications via our website shouldn't be open) but you can apply via
UCAS Extra if you really don't want to continue down the PA pathway. I'd definitely read up on UCAS Extra to make sure you're fully aware of how it works, but basically you either have to have been made no offers by your five choices, or have declined all offers you receive. UCAS Extra then lets you add an extra choice to your application, which you could have as MA Social Work with us.
We do have to provide the disclaimer of seeing as UCAS extra opens on the 26th Feb and the UCAS equal consideration deadline is the 29th Jan we can't guarantee any courses will still be taking applications at that point, but based on the previous few years of applications we would expect the course to still be taking applications. This isn't a 100% guarantee - but its worth checking in when the 26th Feb comes around if you really want to do Social Work! I would personally wait until then to decline any offers etc so you've still got a back up option, but obviously that's entirely up to you
You'd also be able to submit a new personal statement to us for Social Work by emailing us directly - if you do decide to go ahead and apply via UCAS extra, you'd just need to email our Enquiries team on
[email protected] and they can get you the direct email address for the right admissions team to send this to.
I hope this all helps - please do let me know if you have any questions, or if we can help in any way!
Becky
