BF2^+ should be linear with a structure of [F-B-F]^2+

A quick way to find what the symmetry elements of the molecule would be is to first deduce the point group and then use the appropriate character table.

Fortunately, since the molecule is linear, there are only two possibilities (C∞v or D∞h). However, since the molecule is symmetric about both sides of the central atom, it must be D∞h. From the character table, you will see the symmetry operations it has listed as the headings of each column (E, 2C∞, ∞σv, i, 2S∞ and ∞C2’). There are also several ellipses, which almost certainly are just omitting the god-knows how many other Cn and Sn symmetry operations the molecule has.

So other than the C1 rotation axis, you have quite a number of infinite-fold proper and improper rotation axes, you have infinitely many mirror planes that pass through all three atoms and there is an inversion centre (in the boron centre). There should also be other n-fold rotation axes, but these are not listed as there are just too many of them and the C∞ / S∞ axes already tell you enough.
