Hi everyone,
I’m looking for some guidance on my situation as I prepare to apply for Law at top UK universities like UCL, KCL, and Durham for 2025 entry. Here’s a quick rundown of my circumstances:
Background: I’m 19 years old and have not done A-levels yet. I’m currently working full-time and aiming to start my Law degree in September 2025.
GCSE Maths: I originally failed Maths and didn’t retake it, but I did pass English with a Grade 4. I’m now planning to sit a GCSE Maths retake in May/June 2025 to meet the typical Grade 6 requirement.
A-Levels: I’ve recently started preparing for A-levels, which I will sit for the first time in May/June 2025. I’ve secured a tutor and am aiming for high predicted grades, as these will be crucial for my UCAS application.
LNAT & Personal Statement: I’m scheduled to take the LNAT in December and am also working on my personal statement. I need to have my predicted grades and everything ready to submit my UCAS application by the mid-January deadline.
Additional Considerations: I’m also planning a name change and possibly a medical procedure that might impact my studies, so I’m trying to balance all of this.
My Questions:
Do universities like UCL, KCL, and Durham accept applications from mature students who are retaking GCSEs and doing A-levels for the first time?
How do I ensure that my UCAS application clearly reflects that I’m retaking GCSE Maths and taking my A-levels all in one year?
Any advice on managing the LNAT, personal statement, and all the academic prep while working full-time?
